Start Today – You are Ready

by Marie on November 15, 2010

You have your Five Pillar Company; you understand and like the compensation plan; probably talked to your future mentor a few times you just need to join. Congratulation!

Now you just want to know is this the right time to start your own network marketing company?
You are the only one who can answer the question; everybody has different points to consider.

The most important to understand that Network Marketing is a great business but it will not provide you money overnight. I’ve never known anybody who could claim such a success; I’ve seen plenty of companies promising just that.

The best time to start with your business when you are not depending on the future earning from it. You will be busy learning a few things before you will see a check and very likely it will not be a significant one. [click to continue…]

Are you ready to start?

by Marie on October 23, 2010

Before you say yes you want to know what type of system is there to help you start and do the business. You need to find out will you have a sponsor or a mentor? What the difference?

Your sponsor might not be there for you when you need answers to your questions; might not to find the time to talk after you signed up. A sponsor not necessary understands that network marketing is not a sales business.

Your mentor on the other hand will know that it is a relationship business. By definition a mentor is a trusted friend, counselor or teacher, usually a more experienced person. A mentor knows you will need a full Skills set, can teach you and have a system in place for free training.

So the different is huge, it can determine your success.

The Compensation Puzzle

by Marie on October 15, 2010

How is the Compensation Plan working?

You must ask this question and get a clear answer what you understand completely.

Would you take a job where you do not know how much you will get paid?

It is increasingly important in network marketing; you put in significant time and energy to learn the business. Your success will depend on how well you understand and able to explain it to the people who will join you.

Here are some pointers:

  • 95% of networkers are doing it in part time. Make sure that everybody can benefit and have income from the plan.
  • Ask the question how many people do you need on your Team to break even?  You should be able to calculate how much are you spending on the business, on auto ship, advertising and so on in a month. You will need a number of people in your group to cover all of these expenses. Anything above it will be your profit.  Your up line should be able to answer these questions easily, without hesitation. If not, how will you be able to talk to your team? [click to continue…]

Will your opportunity be there tomorrow?

by Marie on October 6, 2010

A number of times I got a call from a family member or a friend saying that they have something very important to share with me. I should stop everything I am doing and pay attention; the timing is crucial I have to act very quickly.

At the first call like this I was a very curious what happened? Is there a problem back home? What is going on?

While the person went on with the “important” story I got more and more frustrated trying to find a polite way to say no, I am not interested.

As calls like this kept coming I lost my patience and did not care too much about playing it nice anymore. I started to ask questions why do we have to act in a hurry? Will your opportunity be there tomorrow?

The story was always the same, a new company is forming, and you have to be there at the beginning to secure a good position.
They told me “You will be sorry if you miss this just because you do not understand the potential of the business right now. Just sign up and you can figure it out later how it works.” [click to continue…]

Read the small print – it is there for a reason

by Marie on September 27, 2010

I hate shopping. It is time taking, often confusing, makes me irritated, I cannot be out of the door quickly enough. Why is that? Because I always feel cheated, taken for a ride.  I guess what I really hate is the process to sort out what I need instead what I would like to have. Usually there is a big difference in the price. I used to say, “There is an antagonistic relationship between my valet and my taste.” It is not fun to be reminded of this all the time.

And I do not like pushy sales people; I do not want anybody coming to me in a store telling me why I should by the twice as expensive item from something I do not need anyway.

This sale’s technique is typical in a car dealership but we don’t buy a car too frequently so I can survive it. In the last decade or so we are extensively bombarded with infomercials, commercials, pop-up ads, billboards, telemarketers and who knows what. Shopping online makes my life much easier. I know what I need, do some research, make my decision and that is what I get. I do not spend time in the store looking; just pick up the item and pay. I even did this with the last two cars we bought. Talked to the dealer on line, made and negotiated an offer, no hassle, it was done in an hour. The next time I will need to get a new car I want the dealer to deliver it to my house and I dream to pay by cash but it is a whole different story.

So with this twisted shop-o-phobic mentality what am I doing in network marketing?! [click to continue…]

In the last post we were talking about the well-known criticisms of the MLM business in general. When it comes to decide that an offered opportunity is for you or not you are pretty much on your own.
Nobody else should make the decision for you or force you into one. That is the easiest part of the process – if the opportunity feels too good to be true, it is. Walk away.
If it promises quick and easy money, a lot of money for no or very little work – run away. “If it would be true the name would not be net WORK marketing” according to my great up-line mentor Wayne Wu. He is right of course. [click to continue…]

Yesterday’s Dream Tomorrow’s Opportunity

by Marie on August 12, 2010

When I was stuck in traffic stretching my twenty minutes commute to an hour and half I used to dream about doing something from home. It was very appealing to be my own boss, loose the early morning stress to get my family ready for the day.

I never could finish the dream, never got to the “How to” part until recently.

So what do I need to do to turn my dream to an opportunity? – I asked myself.

There are a lot of books; articles about this subject readily available all over around but those are not my own ideas.

I clearly put down the boundaries what I am willing or not willing to do, what type of business will work with my personality. I made a self-inventory what do I like or hate, what am I good at or hopeless doing, how many hours a week do I want to spend with it? Why am I doing it, how much I would like to earn and how quickly?

To figure out all of this takes a long time but absolutely necessary to have a solid foundation to build on. [click to continue…]

Be Happy, Create Prosperity, Leave Legacy

by Marie on July 26, 2010

On our last week’s meeting at Mentoring for Free I had my biggest “Aha” moment since I joined the group. We welcomed a new member, 17 years old young man. He was very much out of his comfort zone but still he got on our live phone meeting to learn something new.

Good for his parents and good for him. I am asking the question since I started why couldn’t I do this when I was young? Why nobody I knew could teach me or point me where to find this information? You have to teach your children by example not by verbal lecturing. Was I able to inspire my child to reach happiness, prosperity, and legacy?

One of my guiding principles is an eighteenth century quote:

“Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can” from John Wesley. [click to continue…]

I spend a lot of time with both and the answer to this question is getting longer and longer and more and more complicated.

I asked the question from some of my friends and most of them gave basically the same answer: money.

Is this true? Is it this simple? I do not think so.

Sure, you do both to secure income to find a way out from this economic chaos what we live in. That is -or should be – your immediate goal. Is this enough? Not very likely. You need to know how are you going to accomplish your goal. You have to do a lot of research to find out what is out there, you need to make a decision which company would you like to be associated with, you need to have a definite plan  and you must be persistent. These are big words and since they are the foundation of any type of success it is worthwhile to spend some time to truly understand them. [click to continue…]
